Job Description:
The Director of Revenue Cycle Management is responsible for providing professional leadership for the overall functions of our full service Revenue Cycle Management services. The Director is responsible for all client cash flow and enhanced revenue development opportunities.
Location: Onsite, Birmingham, AL
Responsibilities
- Oversees the operations of the billing department, encompassing medical coding overview, charge entry, claims submissions, payment posting, accounts receivable follow-up, and reimbursement management
- Serves as the expert for all billing processes including automation, compliance, and workflow
- Prepares and analyzes accounts receivable reports, as well as weekly and monthly financial reports
- Audits current procedures to monitor and improve efficiency of billing and collections operations
- Participates in the development and implementation of department policies and procedures
- Analyzes trends impacting charges, coding, collection and accounts receivable and take appropriate action to realign staff and revise policies and procedures
- Understands and remains updated with current coding and billing regulations and compliance requirements to include payer and governmental guidelines
- Supervises personnel, which includes work allocation, training and problem resolutions; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions
Requirements
This management level position does not require coding certification, but should have relative experience with basic coding
- College degree in business, healthcare, administration, information technology or similar degree from an accredited four-year institution.
- Five-year minimum experience in healthcare and professional fee revenue cycle management.
- Requisite levels of leadership and management experience.
- Knowledge and skills with leading EMR and practice management systems.
- Ability to work with physician clients and other professionals.
